Subject: Update on David....

Dear family and friends:

Sorry that it seems long since we've communicated an update, but it's actually taken a while to get the information needed, and here it is.  The short version is that David was diagnosed with 'stable angina' that can be controlled and altered by medicine, diet, and lifestyle changes.  Thank you all SO MUCH for praying, as we were the recipients of peace, hope, and strength during all of the procedures.

For those of you who are interested, the more detailed version follows:

Early Tuesday morning David and I flew up to Nairobi for a scheduled angiogram.  We arrived at the hospital around 8:30 to begin the procedure of being admitted.  As so often happens, the reports that were guaranteed to have been sent to the Cardiologist had never arrived and there was real confusion as to what we were going to be able to do.  David and I sat in an outpatient room singing the chorus "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God".....we then moved to the cardiac clinic and where we were 5:30 pm.

We were able to get a medical report (not the pictures) emailed straight and putting all the info together the doctors of the cardiac clinic decided not to do an angiogram.  They did a coronary calcium counter and a stress echo from which they diagnosed David with stable angina, treatable with meds, diet and lifestyle changes.  He will have to return to the clinic in Nairobi in a few days to have a Thallium scan for them to have a clearer idea of blood flow in the heart during exertion.

The good news is that there is no imminent danger to David....the bad news is that due to David's family history and cholesterol readings, he'll need to change his eating habits and will be on some meds.

Thank you all for praying during this time.....we felt such peace and strength as a result, and believe that the Lord provided a 'warning' for David in regards to his health!  I know that with David's health efforts and the Lord's touch everything will be just fine!!

Blessings,

Beckie

Special Prayer for David

Dear family and friends:

Within the last few days, we have hit a new 'bump' in the road of life.  David has been experiencing some pretty severe indigestion along with central chest pain and breathlessness after exertion.  It has been off and on over a period of time, but in the past few days has intensified to the point where he's been willing to see a doctor.

He's had an EKG, Echo, and a stress test done.  The EKG showed some slight abnormalities, Echo was inconsequential, but the stress test definitely indicates a problem, which concurs with the EKG.  A Cardiologist here in Mombasa has recommended David travel to Nairobi for an Angiogram to determine if, where, and extent of any blockage.....this we are planning to do on Tuesday.  We will make any other decisions once the results from the Angiogram are determined.

We would appreciate your praying with us for the Lord's wisdom, direction, and touch.....we are confident that HE knows the 'ins' and the 'outs' and will work everything to good!

Blessings,

Beckie and David

Beckie
